Explanation why nk_calc fails with 6/5110's

Hi!

I have noticed that many people(Including me) have had problems using nk_calc with 6110/5110 phones.

I have read from other GSM board that nk_calc doesn't work with 6110/5110 that has ROM3 DSP.

How are you? I have had the same problem, because i have a 6110 rom3 dsp and now i have this situaution on simlock:

- Sim Locks Info -
SimLock1,EEEEE,CLOSED,USER ,0
SimLock2,FFFF,CLOSED,USER ,0
SimLock3,FFFF,CLOSED,USER ,0
SimLock4,EEEEEEEEEF,CLOSED,USER ,0

What can we do now to repair it?
i've just tried to use nokiatool035 but it doesn't work... Do you why?

@gianni: try to fflash it with mcu + PPm and update the faid. hope it works.

@MTL: i also can't get it to work with my 7110 and 6150. but it worked perfect on my 3310. does it also have rom3 dsp? thnx

Hello Gianni

To get the phone work again, external EEPROM must be reprogrammed with original backup, thats the easiest and free way to get it work.

Nokiatool can't help in this case, because factory-resetting doesn't fix incorrect SP-data.
Wintesla would help if we had original service hardware from NMP.

(Off course it's possible to repair datas with DK-BOX, if you have calculated 'nk_phone.set', this is quite expensive way to repair phone)

It is quite possible that old versions of 7110's & 6150's use ROM3.
(If nk_calc doesn't work with some phone it is actually allmost certain that phone uses ROM3, otherwise it should work)

3310 is quite new phone, so there is no 3310 that uses ROM3, nk_calc should work with all 3310 phones.

Hi,
dear MTL and gta thanks for your suggestion, but i haven't a backup of eeprom... i have Wintesla, but i haven't the original service hardware...
The worst thing is that the nokia 6110 has an external eeprom and then the Sp-code and IMEI number are strored there. Then i did't think to do a backup of eeprom before try the nk_calc.
Are there other ways to repair the eeprom?

I'm sorry to say this but I think that only thing we can do at this moment, is to hope that Dejan releases version of nk_calc that supports ROM3.

You must Calc FAID, after calc IMEI, after calc SP LOCK !!!
And you must reset phone, if doesn't work you must combine !!! It works.
I have 5110 v.5.30, two months ago was Eprom FFFFFF EEEEEEE FFFF, now has network and ANY SIM CARD ACCEPT /n/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif)

I know it works, I have tested it with other phones.

But it is not compatible with ROM3.
If it works with your 5110, then your phone is ROM4 or higher.

Hash-table bytes that are used when calculating IMEI- and SP-datas, are not same with ROM3 and newer ROM versions.
