It is good if you can be more specific on what kind of error. Unable to run the program? or the program could not communicate with the phone. If the program could not communicate with the phone, few things you can check:

1. Change LPT mode to EPP or ECP
2. Check your cable connection (I guess this is not the problem)
3. If you built your own cable, please make sure you use HC family instead of others. HC family has Smitt Trigger function...

I have experience where my flasher cable only works on PC, which slower than 300MHz, but not on the faster PC. This was due to the chip I used was LS14. When I changed to HC14, the flasher programs works fine on my new PC...

If you use notebook, there will be a problem, please search for notebook in this forum...

i have tried changing EPP-ECP...what other possible factors that would cause this problem? i tested the cable with my friend's AMD duron 1ghz and it worked fine..

please help me with my problem? could it be my programs are corrupted?:( :(

im' not sure about this ,but maybe your printer port is locked by some other program,or your printer port is not working.
do you ever use your LPT port with printer.

maybe you printer port can not provide enough votlage to power up the flash cable.try to get a external power supply(4.5V - 5V).to power up your cable.
can you write out the error message you get when you connect you cable to lpt port and phone(make sure you phone is off).and run rolis v4.78.

Where should the exter power supply be connected?

Could you send the diagram on where to connect the external power supply on the flasher cable?

Check your LPT Input/Output Range in your LPT port using Lpt 1 in Rolis flasher it must be 0378-037F

or try to use knok flasher there is a 3 lpt port choices there, trial and error....

Hope it may solve the problem...

@Andrew_Emil

did you try to power you cable with external power.
connect a 4.5v-5v voltage to the 74HC14 chip. +ve to pin 14 and -ve to pin7.

it will not damage your pc with the original circuit + the power supply but make sure it is 4.5v to 5v.not more than that,it will destory your chip.
