Can anyone tell me, what is different between this flash and original nokia flash file? I wasn't understant, what's new?

Second question: After flash by this file to 5110 I can't unlock by rolis. I must use partial unlock. Why?????

    @ martinzaloudek

USE EEPROM TOOLS 3.1 to unlock (using m-bus cable) - dont use rolis.

The difference with these flashes, i think, is that they have the special character in the '*' menu of sms to make the sms blink (flash on and off).

    @ Arab_nokia

am i right in thinking the above?
but only 33xx series phones have the ability to send the flashing SMS messages, and they work, to other phones, something about unicode?

so i'm guessing, u wasted your time putting the characters in non-33xx series phones.....

    Hey people

    This is nice work
Do you know how to edit the flash to make the sms to zone 0

(Get the sms directly to display)

It's a load of software to use with mbus to do this by computer
but it had been nice to send them directly from handset

Talking MCU and PPM addresses for new nokias

Hi there, I am in need of new flash addresses specially mcu+ppm addresses for flashing brand new nokia models eg. 5210, 5510, 7650, 3350 etc. can anybody send me the links or kindly post it here. The flashing msgs are cool, especially the shortcut where you can manually learn how to change it and not to flash it with a built in full fls. Also, I am searching for a software that can read machine language and convert it to a programming or human readable format, eg. c++, basic, Pascal etc....

    thanks and continue reverse engineering.

u can only send the flashing sms direct (without cables) from nokia 33xx series phones. to send them from a 5110, u have 2 send it from logomanager or similar

    @ krisis

you just have 2 make the pictures up from the characters in the '*' (special character) menu in writing sms.

Why do we have to delete the last 2 chars? In the latest versions of 3310 there is space for 2 more.

    Question

if i use arab's flash file (or make my own) for 3310 v5.55
will i still be able to upgrade it to a 3315 with knok?
and i also noticed that when i have upgraded to a 3315, the text size in the symbols menu is much smaller so new symbols would fit comfortably

On 8210, there is no "character support" menu, where i can select unicode. So what is the point of the line feed and blink symbol if you can't use it in messages?

@Kjetil Hallo! første gang jeg har sett en nordmann i et gsmforum! har du drevet med flashing lenge?

you only need unicode to send the blinking text.

    @ Arab_nokia

The only reason you hav not done 6210/50 is because the flash is encrypted, am i right? most of the other phones you have done are 'not supported' by blinking sms, but u still did them.

    -------------------------------------------------

Unicode is not needed to recieve blinking sms.

blinking sms cannot be sent directly via sms using just the 8210 phone.

you can only send them with logomanager or similar software and cables - or over the net.

Blinking SMS can be sent only by phones that support writing using Unicode.

    Hi,

Blinking SMS can be sent by any phone that supports sms!

Blinking SMS however can only be displayed on Nokia.
I am not sure for all versions, still most.

U not need to set support to Unicode first.

oh... I knew that, but i wonder what phones can be set to send messages as unicode, so that the blink symbol (square - inserted in PPM) will be sent correctly.

As far as I know, these phones can send sms using unicode:
    3310, 3330, 3410 and possibly 3510.

To NokDoc: Not all Nokias can recieve blinking SMS. For example, I've tried it on a 7110 and wasn't blinking; it just showed the 'square' symbol.

How i can set unicod in Nokia 5110?

    @User32

U can send with Nokia 7110 blink message on other phone

    1)Send blink message with logomanager(can blink+direct displey)
    2)Save msg
3)Edit msg and send on other phone

U can send blink msg and msg directly in displey
U can send and blink with support for directly in displey
But maybe problem is version software,

    Hi,

Blinking SMS can be "SENT" by any phone that supports sms!

Blinking SMS however can only be "DISPLAYED" on Nokia.

    To test:
Send to 'any' phone and resend it to a Nokia capable of 'displaying' blinking.

    Little remark:
I never used any other types as 3210 & 3310.
So I cannot tell which ones can 'display'.

    Angry Again:

Almost all nokias support receiving unicode sms. Only with the 3xxx series (except 3110) you can write unicode sms.

I agree with User32, he's right, other model don't have unicode menu except 3310 (as far as i know).
I personally tried to change that \x01 and \x0A on 82XX series b4 and it's hopeless

ALL CAN RECEIVE BLINKING SMS WITHOUT UNICODE.

    all phones receive blinking sms.
but display is different. it works with 51x0/61x0, 3210, 33x0 etc, but not with 6210 i think.. maybe all dct4 are not displaying blink.
sending has to be 8bit/16bit dependin phone. so unicode needed on some phones (just wild guess), but not all nokia's need to have unicode.
blinking sms can be sent with panuworld, i did it when i had 6110.
even if you can't save to sim/phone.

i have used unicode only when sending class 0 sms directly to display. (save template with panuworld to sim, and send your message as email, put your message to email-field and leave normal text empty and send to friends number.) that for all asking panuworld. with 3210 (maybe 33x0) you can't save template, but use friends 51x0/61x0 or other phone to save template to sim.
