I can't exchange nothing!

I want to exchange pictures and ringtones with my friends but i can't.
Someone told me: "infrared is locked, thats why you can't exchange nothing"
Is this true?
If yes, how to unlock it?
Please help me!!!

If you are talking about the nokia 5100 the simple answer is you can't its true and never.

Yes it true you cannot exchange pics, ringtones etc

and its not locked it doesn't exist.

So what's the purpose of the ir port then...

To phone book entries, calander note etc. BUT if you have IR port on your PC you can use nokias software or Mobiel media Browser to transfer stuff from PC to phone and phone to PC but NEVER phone to phone

You relise that you can still customise your Nokia 5100 ringtones using WAP/GRPS and a Data Cable or Infra-Red Port on your computer. Just can't send ringtones to other handsets.

You can only send images and ringtones through Infrared between two Symbian phones (3600, 3650, 3660, 6600, 7650)

Plz note, that even though N-Gage is a Symbian phone ... it does not feature a Infrared port. But rather ... you send stuff through Bluetooth (Bluetooth is a faster wireless connectivity thingy)

Thats NOT true. I have a 3200 which i use to send and recieve pictures and ringtones with my girlfriend's 3200 all the time. It is possible with series 40.
