Hello ppl
Tnks ABE and outerc0re for the tips.
1. Why is everyone trying to replace 16CE625 with 16F628? 16CE625 is still widely available and cheap. I found it in Schuricht for 4.78€ in a one unit order (even cheaper for larger quantities)
2. Still again: what actually happens if you overwrite nokia's virtual eprom area?

The reason I'd like to to replace CE625 with F628 is that F628 has flash program memory, so all modifications can be reprogrammed on same chip.

make good backup of eeprom area (check it 4 sure)...and find out

HI Almost!!!
Just to add that EEPROM area is requiredto be backed up before flashing of the phone. In case this eeprom area is overwritten, then the phonebecomes dead. The only way you can restore it if you had the EEPROM backup.
So, first rule of flashing is ALWAYS TO BACKUP EEPROM AREA.
I hope this helps.
Take Care
