your best bet mate is to try flashing your phone with the latest version, if you dont have the equipment then i suggest a shop, they will do it for arounf £15 - £20 GBP?

no power
is it possible to flash a phone that wont turn on,
the only power is to an led to the rear of top flip an that only for 3-4 seconds
none of the key pad led light up
its almost like it goes to turn on but hasnt got enough power to enable the os to start.
i get the impression that something has blown on the pcb so it isnt getting any power to it
there is a little type of watch battery on the pcb what is this for?

right...
last question first, the small battery on the PCB is called the RTC Battery, (Real Time Clock), this keeps settings like the clock and date set while your main battery is removed.
it is very possible to flash a dead phone, this is one of the main ways to FIX a no power!! but you need the right (and expensive) equipment, and to be honest, if there is something faulty on the PCB then trying to flash it will help you discover what is wrong, as you can read the log from the flashing software and go from there...
Good Luck!!!
