hs-49 headset & 6263 security code

I was working with nokia support today because they shipped me yet another HS-49 headset that only works out of one earbud yet a regular set of earbuds works fine. So they wanted me to restore the factory defaults (*#7780#) but that requires the security code which I never had nor set. The default of 12345 nor the master calculator value works either.

Is the T-mobile firmware somehow locking me out from doing this?? Nokia thus wanted me to send my phone in for re-flashing.
