Wikitude Brings Augmented "Worlds" to Symbian Devices

The free Augmented Realiy (AR)-browser Wikitude 4.0 is now made available for a plethora of Symbian phones. Since Nokia’s operating system Symbian is supported back to its 3rd generation, for the first time phones without a touchscreen are capable of using Augmented Reality technology.

"Until today Augmented Reality was only available for users with touchscreen capable smartphones. This is about to change with our Wikitude 4.0 version for Symbian phones", says Martin Lechner, CTO of Mobilizy at last week’s CTIA conference in Las Vegas. „The challenge was to keep the navigation simple and self-declaring even without the availability of a touchscreen. That’s what we’ve accomplished.“
