Need 8310 Restriction Code

Hi I just bought a Phone off a freind who ended his Contract with orange i bought a knew Sim for it an low an behold i switch it on to get the msg Restriction Code ive been reading forum after forum an i think the details ive put below are the right ones i hope :s any help would be Apreciated

(Some barcode thing)
Code:0507789
(Some barcode thing)

I followed the instructions but it keeps saying Code error :'( wat can i do :s the New Sim Card in the phone is an O2 one dose that make a diffrence mabey ? thnx

What network was the phone locked too...........

When you mate bought the phone what network did he use it on???

Orange but i thought O2 was orange :s also thier is a little Orange logo on the bak of the one. do i need to buy a specific Sim an Orange one?
