    Remove sim, and turn phone ON. Making sure the phone says "insert sim card" on the screen, you now enter these codes as follows:

    try code 7 first, then code 1 then code 2

    p = * pressed three times quickly
    w = * pressed four times quickly
    + = * pressed twice quickly

    * = STAR BUTTON (sounds daft, but SOME people really DO get this wrong hehe)

    enter ALL three of these - code 7, the 1 then 2, and at one/various times during this process, you will see a message on the handset saying "PHONE RESTRICTION OFF" or something to that effect.

    Once you have entered ALL 3 codes, then try a different sim card in the phone.

    YOUR HANDSET IS NOW UNLOCKED!!!

    *** WARNING ***

    YOU ONLY HAVE FIVE CODE-ENTRY ATTEMPTS IN TOTAL, SO PLEASE FOR GOODNESS SAKE, CHECK AND RE-CHECK THAT THE IMEI (SERIAL NUMBER) AND THE SP CODE (5 DIGITS - PROVIDER CODE) AND THE MASTERCODES (THE 7 CODES LISTED IN SEQUENCE ABOVE) ARE CORRECT, AND THAT YOU ENTER THEM CAREFULLY AND ACCURATELY INTO THE HANDSET. IF YOU ENTER FIVE CODES INCORRECTLY, THE MANUAL UNLOCK WILL BE DISABLED, AND YOU WILL HAVE TO UNLOCK BY CABLE+PC OR UNLOCK CLIP!!.

    Ignore the incorrect information above, this is your correct unlocking code:

    Could you please tell me HOW my information was incorrect??... I am bemused at how on earth it is, you think that your code (exactly the same one, code 1) is better than the one i generated (THE SAME!!!!!!!!!). Send this reply to [email][email protected][/email] as I am intrigued as to how you think your code is any different, when it is EVIDENTLY NOT!!

    he's saying it's wrong to post ALL the codes at once as they only have 5 tries....I'm sure I have pointed out the same thing to you before

    they only need the one code that Inder reposted...and yours was correct as you say..

    Was going to email you, as you requested - but easier to reply here, hope you don't mind, I don't care...

    First off, there is nothing agressive about this (well kind of heh).

    Secondly, browntoa is correct, I meant there is absolutlely no need to post all seven codes at once - with only five attempts using an unlock code, users may get confused and accidently use up their tries without knowing any better - posting a single code at at time is best.

    Any element of the data used to generate the code might have been wrong. User feedback would fix this, trying all seven codes, based on wrong information would 'lock' them out... leaving a cable solution unlock only.

    Also, here you suggest to use code 7 first - The USA in general does not support the multilock code, it would make more sense to use code 1 first...

    It seems as though you just entered the information into your software without thinking.

    I don't see what the big issue is, don't get all worked up about it.

    Hey guys,

    I used the code ending with a 7 first and it said "Phone restriction turned off". After reading the rest of the thread i tried the code ending with 1 as well. Then it said something like phone was not restricted.

    Thank you sooo much for the help!

    I just had one more question. Now that the phone is unlocked, it can be used anywhere in the world with the sim card of any provider right?

    Thanks again.

    Glad you got it unlocked, yes you can use it anywhere in the world - as the 6610 is a triband phone.
