6610 caller groups

i have just had a 6610. when i go into caller groups to give each one a different ringtone (the whole point of caller groups i thought!) it wont let me go into the gallery, hence i cant use any of the tones ive downloaded.the original nokia ones are no good. however the gallery function works fine when using the profiles menu.
i had a 7210 before and it would let me assign different tones to different groups. i thought the 7210 and 6610 were essentially the same phone features and software wise. any one help?

hello...

when you are in the main screen (when you see you service provider and your wallpaper), go to "names", then "caller group", then select your group. when you enter the group you want, you should get a menu that reads:

1) Group name
2) Group ringing tone
3) Group logo
4) Group members

go to #2. there, move up one space (meaning go to option #13), there you can enter the gallery.

this should work, unless you have some sort of block in your phone.

thanksfor quick reply.i know how to do what you say but my point was that the gallery option does not come up.for some reason just a selection of original nokia ringtones is available (which arent very good!). it is obviously something wrong with the phone but is unusual as everything else works fine. i wonder if there is a flash or something i can do.?

In short you need to flash you phone with 4.74 it fixes alot of bugs on the 7210/6610.

Hi there :)

If you're in the "caller group" menu, select "group ringing tone" and scroll thru the list. There should come an option "personal" between the original Nokia tones. This will go to the gallery :)

Thank you very much for that information.... i didn't know that, i only ever saw 6610's in either 4.18 or 4.74 :) Mine own was 4.18 with the light bug......

In that case, there's only one way out..... flash it with version 4.74 which seem to be the latest still. Do backup your personal contents (downloaded games, ringtones, wallpapers etc) first since flashing the phone will delete all memory!
