    Question Images&Tones transfer over IR

    Hi folks!

I recently bought an 6610 and read nowhere how to transmit images and/or tones over IR. Is there some 'hidden' menu item or has NOKIA forgotten to implement this (like for contacts in the 7110 :/)

Can somebody shed some light on this please.

    TIA

    not possible!

    Hello :)

It is not possible to send images, ringtones or other content except "business cards" via the IR port.

The IR port is only used as a data communication port between the phone and a computer. If your computer is IR equipped, you can use Nokia's PC Suite software, or MobiMB or Oxygen, to get pictures, tones and games from or onto the phone.

Direct phone-to-phone connection is not possible.

    Kind regards....
    your Thanh

Mmmh, thanks for your reply, Thanh!

And what about an application for that? I, as a programmer, would imagine something like this: browse and send. Basically, this would be an easy task.... and I am willing to do it!

Can someone point me out on C++ to JAVA (ME) programming? I have good skills in C++ but Java I don't know.

I remember seeing an app for the 7650 like a file manager... but this (it's a sis file) wont install on any other series 40 phone.
