thanks a ton for the code. but there is a slight problem. when i put in the new sim card, it doesnt catch any network. the sim card i put in is an india one. is the 6200 a tri-band phone?

yes it is. but the network sim card you have put in may have no partners if you are still in the states

can you put somebody else's sim into you phone to see if it works. you may have no reception.

your fone is a Service
GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/1800/1900

And in India the GSM band is 900
that is why you have tha No covarage signal
you had to get youe self a GSM 900 / 1800/1900 band fone for it to work
