1100 not charging

From the center socket pin to the battery terminal there is no power, the is a little SMD component which is open circuit, I want to know if this is a resistor and what value it is or is it a fuse?

Have you tried bridging it with a link wire?. (i wouldn't do it to someone elses phone). Just a thought. Look about for the service manuals and schematics.
