in need of serious help

hi guys
i'm a complete newbie at this, but i have been trying to unlock my nokia 6310i on orange uk network and a top guy on here (mcpat) help me out with the codes but all i get is the message "cannot undo lock" and when i put a new sim in it just says

"Phone Restricted" and also ask's for a "restriction code"

has anyone else come up with this problem and found a way round it

put in a sim that your phone wont accept, let is ask for the restriction code, now type in number 5 code above exactly how its written.

max attempts u have is 3 or 4 times, after this u have to get it unlocked via a data cable.
