hi i have got an mmc reader which i have to use whilst i lend my friend my infra red cable, i can do everything i did with infra red except when i stick a jar file on my mmc and open it with the file manager originally it just allowed me to see inside so i deleted zipman which fixed this but now jar files wont install can any one help me? is there something i have to do?

    many thanks

jar files install themselves. If you send the jar file to your Inbox then the built in installer on the phone will install it once u go to open it

thats all u have to do!

    Hope that helps

    sounds like a wasnt clear,

i dont have my infra red

    im using mmc reader

cant send to inbox with mmc reader

    put in file on mmc

access the jar file using file manager

    installer runs but freezes

do i have to wait for infra red to return or is there a way

ah soz, didnt read properly, ive seen ppl have this problem before, i think(unless some one comes up with another idea) that u might have to wait til ur IrDA is back

You don't need IR, I install .jar files from my mmc all the time. Sometimes if it comes as a .jad and a .jar file, you can click on the .jad file and it will install the .jar file. When you try to install does it freeze or does it say there is an error? You should be able to install just fine.

If you need the jad files for jar games get jad.exe. It will make a jad for any jar you point it to. Search the forums and you will find a link.

got it sorted, with efilemanager i selected open with and selected applications, after doing this i can install the file and it has created a jad file in the same file as the jar,
