7210 IRDA Connection

My first post, so please be gentle with me!!

I recently bought a USB-IRDA Adapter, hoping to connect my 7210 to MobiMB. I installed all of the drivers then connected the adapter. My pc recognises the phone, but MobiMB will not (either will nokia PC suite). It is slowly driving me bonkers, as I have a load of games, poly tones wallpapers etc sitting on my pc which I cannot get onto my phone !! Any ideas guys? Alternatively, is there another way which I can get these onto the phone without the need of a cable?

As far as i know if you have mobi mb and nokia data suite installed at the same time it can cause errors as they both try and use the same usb slot. So firstly i would say to uninstall the data suite and then try the next step. I know it's going back to the basics but we you have to selcect a connection type in mobimb, make sure you select an infra red connection. then are you activating infrared on your phone?, making sure the phone is not moved and is on level terms with the infra red adaptor?

I had many problems connecting my 7250i with an IRDA adaptor. I found that if you change the type of adaptor to 'Sigmatel 4000', it normally works. I think the settings are in the control panel under 'network' then click 'IRDA adaptor' or something like that. Changing the minimum turnaround time often helps also.
I have Mobimb and the suite both installed and they do not conflict. It should ok as long as you don't try to have both trying to access the dongle at the same time.
I'm not at my home computer at the minute, so the name of what to click in the 'network' bit could be something different.
My model is a 'vishay 610F' or the like. For some odd reason, it needs to be told that it isn't one of these, but a sigmatel...

I use my 7250i with IRDA, i have no problems with it(i just installed supplied drivers,didn't av2 mess wiv ne settings). I have used it with nokia pc suite, mobimb & oxygen phone manager. I got my irda adapter from maplins can't remember the model no. Have u specified to connect by IR in the options of the progs. I'd say try a later versions of the progs but all should work with a 7210.
What IRDA adapter u got m8?
