Can't Unlock NOkia 7610...Plz help

I just bought a nokia 7610 from somebody, but I can't unlock it. I tried all the codes but nothing work. SOmetimes it says code error and sometimes it returns to saying " plz insert sim card". Can you guys help me with this. THe phone is locked for cingular, but I have a at&t sim card ( att is now owned by cingular). SO don't you guys think it should work with cingular without unlocking.

that will be a cable solution; use ufs3 to unlock
