6210 Signal Drop?

Hi guys. Newbie here so please be gentle
I have come by a 6210 which has been unlocked for all networks. Pop in my SIM card and away I go. Except it either drops the signal to zero or disconnects the call about 10 seconds into it or will appear to attempt to make the call and then just beep three times in the earpiece and drop the line.
The signal doesn't always drop to zero but does more often than not.
Any of you guru's have any ideas?

It sounds that it needs the FAID updating!!! Use Noktool 1.7b or something similar (available from the download area) and an MBUS cable, then everthing should be OK

Thanks for the reply. I updated FAID as suggested. Now I get no signal at all and the unit fails to register to the network.

Ok...updated IMEI with what I believe is the original of the phone. Recalc'd FAID and the phone now connects to the network at startup for all of 10seconds and then loses network connectivity. Any ideas out there??
