Polyphonic Midi Tones on a 6100 problems!!!!

I have MOBIMB and have successfull connection with the phone can see folders and stuff can upload tones and images, when i upload tone, downloaded from a site, upload it to phone and it says on the phone "unable to open file"


now i have heard about some nokias having problems with only being able to play 4 instrument type midis, but has any1 else had this problem

Yes i have the same problem with my 7210, i spent ages downloading 2000 polyphonics and most of them dont work, my phone says 'unable to open file' This is very frustrating.

shit innit i am really dissapointed with this, i got about 2 to work i think im emailing nokia about this, tis abs shite

I get the odd one that wont play on my 7250, when i used to convert some with psm player the odd one wouldnt work for some reason even though it had the 4 channels and not to big in size........its a mystery to me.

I'm fairly sure it's a hardware/software related problem. Nothing wong with the MIDIs, just the phone itself.

I know that for Nokia 7210, 6100 and 6610, only files of MIDI format can be played as an audio stream. Most of the polyphonic ringtones that are available on various sites are files of the format WAV which are only played using 7650 and 3650, among others. That is the main reason why these tones aren't able to be opened.
