3650 will not boot !!! HELP!

I've had this phone for 2 months. Worked fine before.

Left it for an hour, came back, phone was off. When I try to turn it back on, the NOKIA word appears, then slowly fades away, this happens 4 or 5 times, then the phone turns off.

    Even plugged in to charger.

    WTH?

    HELP!

you have a very common problem, you have installed a programme or tried to crack a programme and when you restarted you phone, the system folder of your phone realises that it has been edited and it does not turn on, i had this problem twice before. The only was to fix this problem is to flash the phone or take it into a Nokia Cervice Centre.

    3650 Flashing

    Hi ppl

There must be a way to flash the 3650 without going to a service centre. My phone "crashed" after installation of a "profile app".

Is there a way to use bluetooth to flash the phone. If so, where can I get the software and the original flash files?? Surely Nokia, cannot expect us to "run to a service centre", each time a badly behaved app crashes the phone. It's like taking your pc to the supplier, everytime Windows crashes.

    TIA

    Any help will be appreciated.

Have u tried booting in safe mode?

It can be anything from as little as a proggie causing dis or as worse as u needing a fone replacement.

Is ur fone in warranty? If so, then dont experiment....n just take it to NSC.

In my case da fone was phuqed but it was under warranty so they gave me a replacement.

I believe u r in NY? Many many stores sell dis stuff....wot u shud be looking for is a griffin cable and I think u need a flasher kit. I have seen some kits with only da cables n a CD to install n that shud work of ur comp. But I never tried it.

All da best n keep us posted....will try n help as much as possible.

    Safe Mode

    Safe Mode
    Hi

Tx for the quick response. The problem was with a badly behaved app. I think it was SmartProfile that creates an autoexec prog. I finally used the code *#7370#, wihout the MMC installed. This "wiped" the phone free of all data and my apps, but it still would not operate with the MMC installed. I tried the MMC on another 3650, which resulted in the same problem. I then had the MMC formatted on a Palm, re-installed on my phone and it worked fine. Perhaps I should have entered the code with the MMC installed.

Nokia should supply a snapshot of the phone on a CD. There will always be badly behaved apps, so this could be a frequent problem.

PS: How do you boot the phone in "Safe" Mode??

    TIA
