Thanks for the speedy reply, when i entered the codes it came up with a message saying "Not allowed", code 7 message was "code error", do you think someone has tried to unlock before and used all try's up?? If so is there anyway around this or will I have to use a data cable??

check the codes above are they the same as u just entered
sorry i put type 2 before then had to edit it

if it was the edited code above u tried then yes it may be a cable job

Well the codes i entered are the same so it looks like a cable job. I have seen a 7650 data cable on e-bay from a reputable seller, is it easy to unlock with cable? I used to unlock nokia's a few years ago and still have the cables but these won't work. Cheers for the help, i'll probably order the cable anyway and see what happens.

i rather someone with more knowledge answer that one
unless im mistaken some can be done with a standard cable
but some must be done via a propper clip
