How do I disable hands free speaker?

Anyone know how I would go about in disabling the hands free speaker in my 3650? The reason being that I have Mp3Go, and I want to listen to my Mp3s at work, with a HEAD PHONE (privacy matters). I bought this little adapter from Radio Shack that will connect my regular heard phone into my tiny little 3650's port. The adapter does work, I've tried it, however, so does the speaker on my phone. Anyone know how to disable the loud speaker in my phone (not permantly off course)?

I had this problem too initially...

ok.. you put the headphone in, right.. and it still plays out of the speaker.... now take it about halfway out and put it back in again (doing this slowly always helps).

And viola.. now the speaker is disabled.

I think this is a feature so when you're talking on the headset, you can still hear other messages out of the speaker. by triggering the sensor twice.. it tells it.. ok, now be quiet!

at least that's how i interpreted it.

    all the best,
    Gail

Sorry, but in this case, that did not work for mine 3650. No matter how slowly I pulled out the adapter, the loud speaker still was on. Any other way you could think of? Now, keep in mine that this adapter is a "hardware not supported" by the 3650.
