Thread: Userport doesn't work when display drivers is installed!

  1. #1

Question Userport doesn't work when display drivers is installed!

    I have the weirdest problem.

As you know, Rolis Flasher don't work in XP. but with Userport it does.

But the weird thing is that Rolis don't work when i've installed my ATI Radeon 8500 drivers!!

I suppose it is actually userport that don't work.

Have someone git a clue? it is annoying to uninstall drivers just to flash the phone!

Try to change your lpt port base address to other then 378. Maybe ati card using that range of address. or view your ati card at device manager too see which address range it using, maybe help.

It is not possible to change any of the adresses in Device manager.

I also get this error message when trying to run Rolis, after i get the "this SW don't run in winNT 2000":

"Access violation at adress 74E729AC. Read of adress 74E729AC."

err....I don't know whether win2000 got the compatibility options or not, just try....

right click on Rolis executable (rolis.exe) and choose compatibility and choose win95/me.

Then try to run it again.

    Maybe help.

if you need to change lpt address, change it from bios.
usually pressing del when you boot your pc.

Did you add 378-37f both to the user port address list windows already? i guess your lpt port should have using that address. You need to add those manually since userport didn't come default with that address listed.....

For me I everytime add that address to userport and update/stop/start again, and all flash software working no problem except nokia flash tool.

    didn't work...

My display adapter uses these I/O adresses:

    C800 - C8FF
    03B0 - 03BB
    03C0 - 03DF

My LPT port uses these I/O adresses:

    03BC - 03BF
    07BC - 07BF

What should i do? i've tried to add some of the adressess to userport, but it don't work...

seem that your display adapter sharing 03bxx with your lpt port, goto your pc bios setting, normally is pressing del for award bios and AMI bios, and F2 for phoenix bios when pc startup. Change the lpt port address to 378/irq7, should help.

  14. #14
ok i'll check the bios settings. Thanks a lot for you help.

  15. #15
    it did not help either...

    (added 378-37f to userport too)

did you set your lpt port as EPP or ECP or ECP+EPP with version 1.7 above in your pc bios also???

if not, then set it and uninstall the lpt driver in winxp, restart let winxp to reinstall the driver and try.
