3595 alarm clock

Hi,
I have recently purchased a 3595 through Cingular. I am pretty happy with the phone overall, but there is one feature that I can’t quite figure out. The alarm clock. I have set the alarm, but when it comes to the alarm actually going off, it could wake up a mouse maybe, certainly not anything standing more than 4 feet away. I tried calling nokia, but either the person I talked to didn’t know the answer, but she said something about “it may just be that way.”
All the cell phones I’ve had over the past few years have always had an option for alarm clock settings. Could anyone shed any light on this?

As I look at the message AFTER I posted it , I would like the alarm a bit louder, to use maybe as a regular alarm clock, not just a pocket reminder. So far I haven’t figured out what setting controls alarm volume.
