format mmc

Today i've just format my mmc to Nokia Center.Does anybody knows what file/s that have to be in MMC ( let's say that the fone is new ) ? Can I format MMC with card reader ? or just erase files but system file ?

Well I think deleting old files will be enough. I just made so. All's working perfectly

why wud u wanna format ur card again if u just got it formatted @NSC?

btw....u can format card from da fone itself!

Just in case if my MMC not working anymore. I though if my waranty is over then i've to pay to format MCC ( it costs 10 dollar US).This is to much for me. Then why i went to NSC at first? because when I insert the MMC,my fone is only displays Nokia logo. Da fone back to normal without MMC.
Once again : do u know what files/folders that should be in MMC ? What happend if I format with card reader ? does it automatically loaded with system file to get it working properly ?
Any suggestion everybody?

there is no file supposed to be there
just format with anything, make sure it is fat12 and it will work fine

Couldn't agree more. If you format your card, there will be no folders on it (at least if you do it using a computer).

garfieldip, I think you mean FAT16. I don't think it's possible to format it as anything else.

heh, I'v just inserted a new(empty) MMC card into my Nokia, and its created all the folders and files needed by itself...

I thought the same, but was surprised that even when I turned the phone on, it did not create the directories. IT created the "system" and "apps" directories when I installed a program, but if I wanted to put videos or ringtones on my card, I had to create the folders.

It means that there is no problem to format with ANY card reader ( it has command to format ) ? Let's just say like this : you buy a diskett ( 1,4 M ) usually we see 2 kind of disc ( formatted or not formatted ). then if we wanna use the non formatted one we have to format it first,right?. So in this MMC case that would be kinda same thing,right ? Maybe when we buy a new MMC it's already loaded with file/s or something then we can use it immediatelly.
Bro,the bottom line is that I want to make sure that formating MMC with anyhing caused no damage to the MMC.
