    Smile Changing 8210 to a 8250

    Hi everybody

    Im new to this site but i think the information you can pick up here is extremely useful and i thank anyone who helps people out on here.

    I want to know how i would go about upgrading my 8210 to a 8250 have heard it ads features such as composer to the phone.

    How do i go about it. I have a dual bus data cable but i dont know how to change it to a 8250.

    I would be pleased with any help offered..

    ALSO--- how do i find out what ROM my phone has. I heard u need a rom six...

    WHAT about 8890

    is there any chance you can convert to a 8890 aswel...

    Mbus data cable and rolis nokiatool read phone and at the bottom you will see if it is a rom5 or rom 6
    If it is you can make it 8250

    Its a ROM 5. Is there anything else i can upgrade it to?

    I want to know if i can upgrade a ROM 5 8210 to anything else, or can i add software to upgrade it.

    software version 5.27 is in i think.

    Upgrade it to higher version or look for some modified flash with startup tone and 60 ringtones on it.

    That update from 8210 to 8250 goes only with Rom6 Handys.
    With Rom5 Handys you can update only on 8850 or 8890.
    Although that is not worthwhile itself, since 8210 and 8850 has the same menu guidance.

    uhh.. can i see if 8210 has rom6?
    can i see it with b-phreaks?
    or open the phone and check chips?

    friend has 8210 and would like to use it as 8250.

    yes, you can.

    with nokia tools by rolis, connect your phone with an mbus cable, and open noktool, click read phone, you will see what version of your phone cpu under the status bar..
