I just bought an Ngage in the US. I have now tried three different SIM card with the following result:

- The 1st SIM card works fine, The device starts and the phone works. It is not my account however.
- The 2nd SIM card is rejected. I get the message “SIM card rejected”
- The 3rd SIM card is not recognized as a SIM card. I get the message “Please insert SIM card”.

In the package bought in the US I received a T-Mobile SIM card. That card is not activated but I can start the Ngage device with it (without being able to make any calls of course).

Can anyone please explain why I have this problem?
The 1st and 2nd card is from the same operator (Vodaphone Sweden) and all of the cards works fine in any other phone.

I was told by the shop in the US that the phone didn't have a lock.

Do I need to unlock the phone?
you could try an unlock it and see what happens when you put the other sims in, there is no reason why the sims arnt recognised if theyre working in another phone.

How do I unclock the device?

It is a bít strange that it works with one of Vodaphone Sweden cards. That card was the first card inserted, does that mean anything?

you need the imei number for unlocking it. it is strange that one vodaphone card works and not the other ive had no problem with my n-gage and different sims, i wouldn1t have thought that your phone is looked as you bought it in the us and have now put a sweedish sim in and its working crashy may be able to help you more.

Thanks,

My imei is 351520/00/021299/5
I think it's locked on T-Mobile US.

(it is still strange that one of the Vodaphone cards works)
