    Question 2100 - Slow response

    Hello out there...

I did some google-ing on the 2100 before buying one and found reviews complaining that is is *slow* to respond when using the calculator or the SM editor. Then I tried a demo phone at a store and confirmed it.

    ¿Is it a known/fixable issue? ¿Some SW upgrade, perhaps?

(I'm surprised there are no previous posts regarding this)

    thanx,

    - arielCo

    Yes
    the 2100 is slow
but it is not deu to the software but deu to a hardware problem
it is bace on the 8210 but uses a 3310... Intel FLASH F160B3TA, 1Mx16

    that is why its slow

    Cool

    Thanks crashy!

So it is hopeless, isn't it? The flash could be replaced, but
then the FW would have to be copied with a standalone
    recorder, right?

this problem has been fixed in the newer fone
they have repaced the Intel FLASH F160B3TA, 1Mx16
with a better one that is much faster
    and is more reliable
so all you need to do is return it to NOKIA tell them the problem and they will replace it if it is in mint condition

    Talking

Thanx for the info. Actually I haven't bought it yet but intend to, so I went to a local dealer to try out a demo.

I want to buy it second-hand over the Web. Hmm... Is there any way to have the seller find out which chip it has? Maybe date of manufacturing (*#date#)?

    regards... arielCo

that is a bit hard to know caus it can olny be found out by the IMEI number
but it is also very hard to caus each country has a verious lote of numbers
the only way and sure way s to open the fone and check out the chip
but il l try to confirm this by Monday ok
