    9210i no network resolution

    Hi,

I bought a 9210i off ebay and formatted it.

    1. The format splash screen said I had 9210 not 9210i. Is there anyway of telling?

    2. Could someone tell me what the correct charger is suppose to be for this thing. Its original at 800mA stopped it from charging so I used my 7650 charger instead but it never stops charging. Do I need a new charger or battery?

    3. Most importantly I have no network access. It recognises Orange or 02 but then network covergae disappears. How do I resolve this? Do I need to flash and if so how. I have spent many hours surfing for an answer but cannot find a solution.

    Apologies for being a newbie.

    Smile Multiple Problems....

Let me answer your multiple problems one by one.

    1. The format splash screen said I had 9210 not 9210i. Is there anyway of telling?
    Enter *#92702689# (= *#war0anty#)

    2. Could someone tell me what the correct charger is suppose to be for this thing. Its original at 800mA stopped it from charging so I used my 7650 charger instead but it never stops charging. Do I need a new charger or battery?

Typically your 7650 Charger is supposed to work. If it does not stop charging then that usually means battery is at the end of its useful life. You can try to discharge it completely and try to recharge for 12-24 hrs or give up and get a new one.

    3. Most importantly I have no network access. It recognises Orange or 02 but then network covergae disappears.

Go to Phone Settings Network Selection and put it on Manual Mode.

    Erm ...

I got the same sad story from the techo's but all it turned out to be was a few loose screws holding the housing for the CPU component.... this dramatically affected the reception.

1st things 1st, what software versioin you have in the phone, as if it's an old one then an upgrade might help, next the screws there are 6 of them on the bottom of the phone, as for the splash screen if it comes up with 9210 after format then the phone is a 9210 (sorry but someone ripped you off) also the other way to check is to lift off the battery and it will have on the label rae-3 (9210) or rea-5(9210i), to check software version on the phone insert sim wait for boot and type *#0000#.

Is everyone forgetting that the phone keypad on the front is silver on the 9210i and dull grey/black on the 9210?
