prevent IMEI changing

dya hav any idea bout nokias plan in preventing IMEI changing for all of its phones?

yes when nokia introduced the dct4 range of phones a couple years back (the colour screen/gprs ones etc) they put in an OTP (one time programmable) chip with the imei number in it so you cant change it without replacing that chip.

i believe they're using solderless PCB? how's this?

they probably use glue to stick the OTP chip in place, that way if you try to remove it you risk damaging the board
