the box serial is a part of the unlocking algorithm for dct4 mastercode calculation.
many providers of the world have their own serial for generating mastercodes... today there are some of the bout 2000 serials public and we use them for our dct4 algorithm to calc valid mastercodes.

nokia phones contain a list of serials in firmware. some public serials were blacklisted in new phones, so a calculation with that blacklisted serial give an invalid mastercode.
for calculation use a serials corresponding to the age of the phone!

ehhhm, NO!

some members in the scene try to find out new serials from provider and notice the generated mastercodes from customers to get this serial...

of course there exists a list anywhere stored the serials, but nobodys has access to this, ask nokia for it *LOL

the only list is the collection of several published serials on the internet!!!

you'll never find a complete list with all serials of nokiaphones. this should be nokia's and the provider's secret...
the new serials come from anybody who extract serial from a valid mastercode of a provider's calculated code!

the software know the serials, cause the programmers of the calcs implemented the published codes into it. some calclualtors have the ability to enter own serials.
