I hope I have the right section. I have a Motorola phone on Verizon that I hate. Someone gave me a deactivated Nokia 3285 BA. Verizon told me that a new FCC rule prohibits them from activating any deactivated phone that isn't 911-compliant. I want to activate it myself. I followed instructions on this forum, and I changed the phone number, but it still doesn't work--the Motorola still works. Does anybody know if I can activate it myself, and if so, how?
