    BT sending files question

    Example:

    1. I took some pictures, let's say 20 and send them via BT to my folder on PC...

    2. I delete pic from my 7650...

    3. I take another 20 pictures, and when I send them they overwrite those 20 before, without asking ??!? What the f... ??

On irda, it would rename those files ??

Any help, I use WIDCOMM soft...

    Thanks...

    Hi SaKy,

It's a bit of a pain isn't it. I just assumed it would rename as with ir , but like you found that it had overwritten the previous files.

I get around it like this. If I'm not going to go back to the machine before I send another load of pics back I choose options in the camera app. then settings, and change the default image name.

That way all the new shots will have a different name still with the (01),(02) etc. suffix, this way you can send them back without worrying.

It would be nice if the BT exchange folder automatically created a new sub-folder with the current date and time when the files are recieved so that each send would be placed in a new folder.

    Hope that's of some use.

I thought that there is no easy solution...

But I use Photographer 2.0, and he doesn't have image name anymore (like in ver 1.0), he writes current date as the file name, adding the number at the end...

That's ok, but if I transfer more than 1 time a day, the filenames are the same, my only solution is to when I transfer files to PC, I should move them somewhere...

    But it is ok...

    Thanks anyway...

    zipman

Here's a slight workaround then, It's a bit of a pain and it only means you can send two lots of fotos back.

Use zipman to zip the first lot of files up that way you can send 20 or so in a zip and then send the next 20 without the zip.

It's not a solution but it gives you the chance to send 2 lots back.
