question about the flasher software

can i use the flasher software in a laptop?
can i also use that flasher software in a virtual pc?
i ask this because i don't know if the problem is in my cables or is it because im using a laptop or using a virtual pc (virtual windows 98 )

as for the laptops, there can be an issue with the power supplied to the LPT port. Check Mr.Wolf's posts as he had to buy a new one to be able to flash DCT3 phones

as for the Virtual OS... it's really virgin ground as i never heard anyone saying he had had or hadn't trouble with that
