Thread: 6600 mmc Not recognizing data...

  1. #1

Thumbs down 6600 mmc Not recognizing data...

I'm using the stock 32Mb MMC that came with my 6600 and I had filled the card up to about 25Mb then for some unknown reason it stopped recognizing the data in the 'images' folder of the card, yet all other folders and data on the card (eg. videos, sounds, apps etc.) were still available.

However, when I put the card into my usb card reader on my pc it recognized all data including my images! Lucky.. So I've backed them up now that's for sure.

I figured it might be because I had too much data in the images folder so I deleted a whole bunch of crapola and lobbed the card back into the phone but alas, it still won't recognize the data in the images folder?!

The fact that my usb reader can still read the card leads me to believe that it's not the card, but the phone with the problem..

Has anyone else experienced or heard of this problem? Got any suggestions?

Also, is there any diff between an 'MMC' and an 'SD' card? Can I use an SD card in my phone?

    Thanx in advance!!!

scan your mmc with the pc.load it try,not sure try other phones with the card.

finally phone files lose, needs to copy from working phone, then tranfer to system data directory.

if you reflash your phone, some app. in your card needs to reinstall.

    good luck.

    Thumbs up

    whey!! Thanx for the response!

I think I get what you mean... I'll try getting diagnostics of the mmc through my pc's card reader..

And if I don't have any luck I'll just reformat the card and hope for the best...

My friend went and bought an SD card that is apparently compatible with the 6600...

wrt my problem - I formatted my card and it seems to be working fine now... But it remains to be seen for how long...

The funny thing is, I'm aprehensive in buying a bigger MMC card because every time I go to a shop to buy one I'm tempted to just sell the 6600 and get a flashy PDA/phone heheh... Hmm..

@Xorn are u sure ur frend got a SD card to work in 6600? its highly impossible!

the prob wif ur mmc is perhaps, some apps crashed. so, formatting is the only solution. anyway, hope u wun get any more probs wif the mmc.
