nokia 5230 unlock

I brought my Nokia 5230 type RM 588 back from the Uk. It was on the orange network. I don't know DCT it is if any and the model # 5230 doesn't appear in any lists. Will the code generator work or are they just sort of random numbers ? The generator says the phone type is ASIC 2 ? I thought it was the RM588 type ?
I would appreciate any help.
