For all the newbies(& those who like to share)

I did some readings and adjusted some documents with necessary step-by-step details for novice users.Pls feel free to
add useful details even if you think they are trivial....

    WinDCT4 Flasher
    Installation:

    Just double-click "Install WinDCT4.exe" found inside CD-ROM!

How to Flash MCU + PPM (full flash)
    1. Run 'WinDCT4.exe' found at "c:\windows\desktop\WinDCT4"
or the Desktop of your PC.
    2. Click 'PPM File' button and then select the type of phone and
PPM file that you wish to use. Remark: versions ending with
    Letter ‘g’, have ARABIC language.
    3. Connect phone to cable (phone must be powered off).
    4. Click 'Flash' button and then quickly turn on the phone….Phone
will not fully power on....Software will begin to erase then flash the MCU of the phone...You can monitor the process from the software’s status bar at the bottom of the software’s screen ...Wait for approximately 3 minutes or more, and then
you will see a message that says "Remove Battery, then click OK"...
    5. Remove the battery and the cable from the phone and then put
    it back again.
    6. Click 'OK' button and then quickly turn on the phone.
...Software will begin to erase then flash the PPM of the phone...
...Wait for approximately 30 seconds then phone flashing is done!
    7. After flashing, you need to put a SIM card into the phone and
reset 'Factory Settings' using the phone's internal menu. Failure
to do this step will result to malfunctioning of Caller Groups.
Remark: Sometimes you have to hold the cable and the phone through the process
In order to insure the pins don’t detach from phone.

    How to Flash PPM only
    1. Run 'WinDCT4.exe' found at "c:\windows\desktop\WinDCT4"
or the Desktop of your PC or from C:\WinDCT4
    2. Put a check on the 'PPM' box located at the upper left hand corner.
    3. Click 'PPM File' button and then select the type of phone and
PPM file that you wish to use.
    4. Connect phone to cable (phone must be powered off).
    5. Click 'Flash' button and then quickly turn on the phone.
...Software will begin to erase then flash the PPM of the phone...
...Wait for approximately 30 seconds then phone flashing is done!

How to Reset the Security Code
    1. Run 'WinDCT4.exe' found at "c:\windows\desktop\WinDCT4"
or the Desktop of your PC or from C:\WinDCT4
    2. Connect the phone to the cable (phone must be on).
    3. Click 'Reset Sec Code' button and wait for message:
    "Security Code Set to 12345"
    4. Remove cable from phone and insert SIM card.
    5. If phone still rejects the 12345 code, then wait for 20 minutes
    before entering 12345 code.

Contact Service (Software) / Phone Restricted / Security Code
    1. Run 'WinDCT4.exe' found at "c:\windows\desktop\WinDCT4"
or the Desktop of your PC or from C:\WinDCT4
    2. Connect the phone to the cable (phone must be on).
    3. Press Unlock/Repair button (Retry if it fails or gives error –Don’t Panic!!)
    4. Phone writes “TEST MODE”, and you can read “ENTERING TEST MODE” on PC screen. If for some phones, you don’t read ‘Test Mode’, you can attach the positive battery pins of the phone with a soldering wire (temporary, don’t solder!!) and then plug the DCT4 flash cable. Some phones require a forced ‘Test Mode’ procedure after they are flashed and write “Contact Service”.
    5. Software first reads (IMEI, etc)…. then writes…
    6. Done… Finished!! Insert SIM card.
