Is there a way to use mp3's as ringtones, without just setting the recorder going next to the computer!

Im sorry but 3300 is also capable of using MP3's as ringtones, that's why it is called the music phone, and its also a s40 phone.

you can upload your polyphonic tones and wallpapers through free wap sites e.g. www.wap41.com
1st u got to know how to code .wml in notepad for ex.
    its just like coding html

no coding needed... easier way :)

    @jeffhack

    Hello :)

There is a far easier way, which does not require any coding knowledge.......

Just go to www.tripod.com and sign up for a free web account. Chose a short username since it will become your URL (adress).

Then use Tripod's file manager to create a folder in that account. To this folder you can then, again using that file manager, upload .mid files, .jpg files and .jar files (yes, games!).

Just make sure you got a file called "index.html" in your root folder, create one with frontpage or use one of the free Tripod templates. It makes that thing look like a homepage... it is required, since Tripod does not allow it's accounts to be used as storage only.

Now you can access the files you have uploaded directly by WAP. That's why i recomment Tripod, because not only do they support jpg, mid and jar files, but they also allow direct-file-access (remote loading, or "hotlinking") which most other free wespace providers don't.

Now, to get your ringtones, just fire up WAP (doesn't matter if GPRS or dialup) and go to the adress......

    http://yourname.tripod.com/yourfolder/yourfile.mid

    Get pictures....

    http://yourname.tripod.com/yourfolder/yourfile.jpg

    and even games......

    http://yourname.tripod.com/yourfolder/yourfile.jar

And all of that is free :) And no need for any coding........

    Kind regards....
    your Thanh

Hey thanks a LOT guys for all the polyphonic ringtone work you've done!!

Wondering... is there any program for PC that allows us to extract a certain part of the midi file and use it seperately? There's lots of unnecessary introductory stuff in those, and for some we could just cut to the chase and get right to the meat of the ringtone!

    Thanks again.

Yes man, I use cakewalk on my pc to remove channels, split and cut from the midi files. With it I can almost transform all midi files to a ringtone on my 7250i

I will be posting here some zip files of these Polyphonic Ringtones. Some are good, some are ok, and some are just bad. But eitherway, why pay some one else for them!

If you check around this discussion board, you will find I have left more Ringtones and some Java Games & Programs for free downloading.
All I ask is that you do a quick reply to this message and do the poll.
