dead 5210

hi

i killed my 5210 trying to make a full flash backup using nokia dct3 flasher 4.78. it wont even power on now.

i understand i need to reflash but how can i do that when all the flasher software i have used says "press power on shortly" and the phone doesnt even have any power!!!

it is dead dead dead. is there any hope? please help im getting desperate. i have knok, rolis, eeprom and others.

Hi,
I had exactly the same problem. If you go back to main thread board and scroll down to "help! Repairing bad flashes " DaveGSM82 gives the answer and it worked for me.

Make shue that batary is full. Try with knok21 full buckup flash. I solve the problem by knok21.

hey

its back to life but i can only get it to 2 different states -

very weak signal or
very weak signal and restarting every minute or so

now when i try and use knok21 as suggested it dont connect to phone so i cant reflash.

also tried DaveGSM82's advice with no luck.

i tried cleaning the pins etc with no effect but i noticed the 4 connections inside the dongle are very loose. they are connected but loose. do they have to have a strong connection?

bahhhhh. any other offers?

ALL you need is that
1-use g3n0lite to kill mcu checks and flash check(FAID) but be sure that you do this with a backup from 200000 to 580000 "not full backup"
2-flash this file to your fone using knok
3-use eeprom tools to update your faid...it will connect to ur fone via mbus cable and just press on the magnifing glass and it will do the rest
4-restart your fone and all done

Thanks romeo, i did all you said and everything went in sweet but i still have a very weak signal.

i also tried a virgin eeprom and updated faid using eepromtools and its still weak.

nuts.

sorted. now working. after reflashing again the signal was still weak. so, getting close to giving up i took the aerial off and cleaned the contacts up and it works sweet now, full signal strength.

lessons learned -

always use knok on a 5210 and never ever rolis, it killed my fone so many times.

eeprom tools rocks.

nokiafree rocks.
