SIM universal unlock code

Hi there,
once I heard that some ppl can unlock the PIN code of a SIM card with some kind of a universal code that passes trough the PIN code. However, one of my friends once blocked his card and suddenly he realised that he doesn't know hte PUK code and he went to a guy that pretended to know such " universal code " that unlocks the SIM. No cables, no wares, software or hardware, only by hands.
Do you know any source with such information ? Thanks

99% sure its not true.

If there was a universal code, that would be known years ago. I guess...
