can't check sw version using *#0000#

    hi there,

i have a dejan flasher cable, and i have successfully unlocked a nokia 3310 in the past. now i am trying to unlock my friend's nokia 3310 (locked to UK network), and have run into a problem.

the phone displays the message "Insert SIM card". if i type *#0000# to check SW version, the phone displays what i typed, but does not do anything.

if i insert a new zealand SIM card the phone displays the message "SIM card not accepted". if i then type *#0000# the phone still does not display the SW version.

    * do i need a UK SIM card in order to check the SW version?
    * is there another way to check the SW version (i believe i need a data cable to use nokiatool)?
    * if there is no way of checking the version is it ok to make a backup of flash memory, then experiment with partial flashes of firmware?

    many thanks,
    malcolm

or you post IMEI and MCCMNC code (not network name please) and say its a DCT3 from NFREE to unlock at gebrauchteshandy.de/forum and get it unlocked free.

Its easy! Use rolis 1.8 to unlock phone. You don`t need to know sw version to unlock 3310! If you are using winXP,then use knok or eeprom tools!
