    Agile Messenger Dangers (Data Corruption)

I had agile messenger for quite a while, and it worked great. It even updated itself to 2.10 while i was connceted via GPRS. It worked fine. Then, one day, it just corrupted. It won't start up. I see the title bar, and poof, it disappears again... no running agile messenger. I tried uninstalling it - no luck. the installation is 'corrupted'. I tried doing a fresh reinstall over the previous install, but since the old installation is corrupted, no luck.
I cant even delete the agile messenger folder with Fexplorer!

So... now i hv an installed app, taking up memory tht cant be removed.

If anyone knows how to solve this, without a reformat, please let me know..

    Be warned ppl.

gud thing you havent formatted your mmc yet... format wont fix the problem...
you will need an mmc reader/writer or some devices like iPAQ to properly format that mmc. ive been experiencing this problem for quit some time now...

i just rename the folder to trash1 then install a new one...

all great things have a flaus huh...

    Great!

schizo, thanks. It works. Only trouble is, the 'trash' folder still exists and is taking up useless space right?
is there anything i can do with it?

Hmm, I've been using Agile Messenger for a while and haven't had that problem. I have n-gage, so it's not a problem for me- I can just connect it to the PC and use Windows Explorer to delete the stuff. Anyway, if you need something deleted, make sure it's not read-only.

Another story about a similar thing, but with a different solution.
I once downloaded a program, VDelete, that would securely delete files. It made this "ZDelete Recycle Bin" thing on my desktop. Now, I thought it would allow me to get rid of already "deleted" files, which it didn't, so I tried to get rid of it. There was no uninstall file, and it wouldn't show up in Add/Remove Programs either. Since it made it so that whenever I tried to delete something it would securely delete it, when I tried to delete the VDelete Recycle Bin, it wouldn't work for obvious reasons. The thing that was making it securely delete stuff was a process (I didn't realize that it was a process at the time, or I would have stopped it. That's obviously what it was though). Of course, with Windows, applications can crash pretty easily. So, even though I didn't know what I was accomplishing, I pressed Delete over and over and over and over. Eventually, what must have happened was the process crashed or overloaded or otherwise stopped, and VDelete Recycle Bin was gone.
