Thread: Nokia 6015i

    Question Nokia 6015i

I have a couple of questions:

    1. Is there a way to enable the web browser? I have the phone through Verizon and they disabled it. I did the *3001#12345# thing but I don't see any option for the browser.

    2. 6015i is supposed to have assisted GPS and going through Net Monitor and the corresponding code (7501) I can get the lat/long but they're encoded somehow: instead of numbers, it displays "x"s (e.g. x xxx.xxxxx) - is there a way to decode/enable this info?

    3. Is it possible to install new games through an USB cable? How?

Let me know even if you have a different model - it still might work for mine.

On a side note: I know almost nothing about cell phones but I think of them as a computer: hardware + software. Is it possible to remove the software that Verizon modified and install the factory-default Nokia software?

    Thanks!

    Me too!

Soon as you have something on this, let me know too.

I've even downloaded forum.nokia.com SDK software for development and deployment of applications but haven't had any luck so far.

I'll be interested to see if we can't figure something out on this. Will keep you updated if I manage to crack anything...

Someone gave me the flash files, but it turns out I also need a flash box (or know someone with one). There's also a chance I might damage the phone, so for now I can live without the web browser. I also haven't been able to solve the GPS mistery.

But, I've been able to install new games using a cracked version of MobiMB 2.4 (I think 2.3 should work too) Send me an email (lobi41 at yahoo.com) if you're still interested.

Attached is MobiMB 2.4 that can be used to transfer games to/from 6015i. The key thing is to disable the network / Internet when you install or use the program. Otherwise it connects to some central server and changes into a demo version. Or so I've been told. Enjoy!

PS> If anyone has any games that would look good on the small screen of 6015i, please let me know.

I've downloaded BoulderDash and Solitare thinking I could install with PC Suitre and the DKU-5 cable but I'm not having any luck. The application installer complains that the files are too large (~55 and 45KB respectively) and I have 490+KB free on the phone!

The only game I've been able to sucessfully load was a Connect 4 game also called 'four in a row'. It has been a while since I was able to try loading more. I was only able to load it using Pylot's MobiMB program.

The Nokia software stuff is whacked and won't let you do anything but put images in the gallery really.

Oh, and I guess it is good for synching with an address book and calendar.

    Loaded!

I got them both loaded after I bought the MobiMB app. The Solitaire has a minor re-draw issue and BouldeDash is great!

I am bummed though, I had it in my mind that I could associate an image with a contact and have it pop up when I was called. I guess the images can only be used as wallpaper. The image converter does a good job of converting an image for use on the phone.

I do love the the ability to back-up and now I sync with Lotus Notes and get all of my reminders on the phone. It just needs a snooze! I'll probably just shorten up my alert X mins before time though.
