Hi Everybody!!!

I have had TomTom 5 installed on my mobile and I'm having problems installing new voices. You know the sort Ozzy swearing, Whit Van Man etc?

When I try to change from Tim or Jane (pre-installed voices) to the new ones I have loaded onto my RCMMC, it takes ages to select the picture. Then I can "test" the voice or select it for that matter?

What am I doing wrong?

I don't have an installation disk, can I download one from somewhere?

It takes ages at the picture is too large.

Try making the image smaller and it should load faster.

Off the top of my head, i think the image is in .bmp format.

I agree with the bitmap, but it doesn't help my problem of the voice not working.
I did instal a free one from www.tomtomsatnov.info and that worked great!

Where did you get the other voices ?

Most of the commercial voices are coded to a device and will only work with the the device code they were bought for.

The voices for TomTom Mobile need to be 16000Hz and not 22050Hz like the ones for the Go and Navigator.

Mobile windows, Navigator, Go have 22050Hz
Mobile symbian has 16000Hz

this could indeed be why it doesn't work for you
I'm working on a tool called VoiceRipper which will convert voices from 22050Hz to 16000Hz, create from ogg, create from wav, rip to ogg, rip to wav
and perhaps also will let you swap directions to left with directions to right (just for fun )
I hope to have it finished soon...

I have tt5 installed in treo650 and it is working fine, i am trying to install it on my hp ipaq and when i try to to run it it ask me to activate and gives me code to get another code from ttcode.com. but the code i registered with is different than one it gives me, any way i can get it activated. all help is appreciated.

anybody know where i can get tom tom 5 for the spv m2000 for free i remeber seening tom tom on it when i first seen it but i never use m2000 until now & when i turn it on i can't see it anymore don't know anythink about this model so if you could tell me how to get it up that would be great
