NEC e616v problem: Dial Lock/ Handset code

Hello people.

I have received an NEC e616v from a friend. I believe the handset to be locked to the 3 (UK) network. It powers up fine and goes to the main screen, but i am unable to use it or check the software version (*#06#). This is because it is on "Dial Lock" and is asking for a "handset code". It also says that i only have 2 attempts remaining. I have the original USB cable and would like to modify it for unlocking when i can find instructions to do so (and some software that doesnt require an activation code). Can anyone help because i'm a little bit stuck at the moment.

I'm replying to my own thread just to say that i'm amazed that out of all of the people ive helped, not one person is willing to repay the favour.

This is how people on ebay make lots of money from selling free information and other peoples software. Maybe i'll be the next fool?
