Okay, I bought my cable from celllphoneshop.com (http://www.cellphoneshop.net/noname141.html) a week ago and finally received it yesterday..

Here's the problem... I have it hooked up to my COM 1 (9-pin port) and it just wouldn't read the darn phone.. Tried it on my laptop(xp) and it doesn't work either..

I am running Win XP with userport activated. My main concern is whether my data cable is faulty  because none of the programs I tried can communicate with the phone (logomanager, rolis1.8, jordik3.0x, knox2000), at all!

any suggestion/help?

Unless I have been informed wrong then you must use the IrDA port for that phone. I had the same problem, I bought a data cable for my Nokia 8310 for logomanager but it also needs IrDA.

Check here if you would like to see it for yourseld...

We quit even loading phone software on our XP machines.

And seems your COMMON problem most likely is (XP).Easiest thing for you to do is take your software, phone and cable to a buddies RUNNING WINDOWS 98 and see if it works.
