Am looking at fixing a Nokia 8250 that has been dropped in water.
The phone switches on but after a few button presses or playing around it switches off.

Just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction of where to start looking. Have no worries with the electronics side of things but have never really fixed phones before execpt bad LCD's etc.

Any suggestions

Try to flash it.

1) open it all
2) take a sheet of paper and clean all golden contacting surfaces
3) close it

at least it worked with 5120i I found dropped in a pool :D

Open and separate each parts, let it dry using hot air (medium heat) especially the phone ram.

Reflash if problem unsolved.

Hii...

There's nothing wrong with the flash files.U should open ur phone and take a look at the PCB keypad side.If u never open the phone b4 u'll found tat there's some green muds on the keypad tip.Try to clean it up with thinner and sand paper.
And try to press the buttons without housing on it.Sometimes the on/off button could cause this.
Hope this can get u 8250 back as usual.:)

Thanks....
