View Full Version : Keeping SMS tones after Flashing

When you flash your phone with a new flash file, is there anyway to get your old tones recieved via SMS back?, i have a backup of my phones old flash which had some good ringtones in and i can't get them again.

Is there any way of reading them back out of the old flash and putting them in the new?.

All received tones (ones put in via. LogoManager or SMS) are stored in the EEprom.

If you have a full backup of the phone before you flashed it, you could extract the tones and flash it into a custom ppm pack for yourself, that wayu you have the good ones and can still receive more.

yeah i do have a full backup, but how do i read them out?

Easy !!!

Use something like PPManager to export the tones from the old file and insert them into the new one..

There are heaps of threads here that will tell you how to do this.

yes. gammu or gnooki could do it. depends on what model thou..

kxplorer can also save your recieved ringtone also depends on what dct3. right now i can do it on 7110.
