yeah it's nice!
the name GPS it's a bit wrong (nothing about streets, squares..:D): this sw allows u setup "events" based on ur position.
4 example at ur home u are logged to a microcell: to this microcell u add an event (it could be <change the ringtone>,<change the profile>).
when ur signal reaches this cell the fone loads that event.
So it is for the other cells (office, school...)

I think is important for the people with interesting,the problem is in german language.
I think with the phone is impossible to have a precision,because the real GPS when working is linking with max 12 satellit and the precision in this condition is about 2 meter.
I wait for to see.

Hi, @ pesa:

This software is out for N 7650. You can dl the s/w with no cost and have the first 3 maps for free. The fourth and furthers maps are for pay ( one Euro).
I tried it, but I cant dl maps (perhabs probs at my configuration).

But another question @ all:

With the proggy "miniGPS" I get an "area iD and a "cell iD" with 5 figures each.

With an another provider, O2, I have read, you can get a 12 digit Number out of the phone and with this number you can converte it to the local area (map), who you are. At Lycos you get a graphical map with your location, where your phone is.

But I want to do the same with D 1 T-Mobile. Therefore my questio: Does anybody know, how I can get this 12 digit Number? Are the two 5-digit-No. from MiniGPS helpfull?
And, at least, at my N7650 I can choose at the options: "cell info on/off". I choost to "on" but where can I get any informations?

Perhaps is this Thread usefull for many people.
If anybody are competent, please post back. Thanx.

How big are the cells that this minigps tracks (radius?)? In other words, how accurate is it?
Btw, does anyone have the *cough*full*cough* version of this software? ;)

i don't know exactly.....but they'r not very accurate...

Yes pesa is not accurate.
I live in Italy and the MiniGPS a time mistake of about 2km(in my house I have 2 cell, only if I turn my phone) .
I think this is useful if you want to change the setting of your phone(if you want to changhe your tone and insert silence) of if you want to remember when you are in the determinate place.

In the 9110 there was the "CellTracker" that was quite similar to use. But not precise at all.The cell´s radius can be several kms.
Also, when for example, you´re at home, your 7650 can switch to several different cell´s to get the best signal.Then after a while the 7650 starts to look again for better signal and changes "your position" again.

I installed minigps on my phone but i cant seem to open the application. It shows an error. What can i do to correct this error?

One thing is missing though...It would be better if it had an function for adding automatically new cells to the database....

The Soft can detect only the cells you´re allowed to use. Not anything else.Forbidden networks and new, test-stage cells will stay hidden. The only time you are allowed to use other networks than your own is when you make an "emergency call" to 112 or 911 or what ever it is depending of your location.
